Why is an onion odor so prevalent among odorous armpits? does this type of bad bacteria take over the easiest?

Comments

Hi Jill, thanks for your question. In many cases, it is caused by Staphylococcus hominis. They are ubiquitously seen in the armpit, whether the abundant species if Staphylococcus epidermidis or Corynebacterium spp. They are well adapted to the underarm environment and are -on average- there for about and up to 10% of the microbial community.
